猪流感的英文说法：Swine Flu
最近猪流感有蔓延之势，搞得不少地方人心惶惶。
偶然从美国的一些文章中看到，原来猪流感的英文说法是 swine flu，而不是很多人（包括我）一开始认为的是 pig flu。很有意思。
用金山词霸里面的美国传统词典（双解）查了一下，对swine的解释如下：

需要注意的是这个swine的复数形式还是swine，即没有写法上的变化。
然后又查了一下pig这个单词，其解释如下：

下猪仔；产仔猪
可见pig的词义更广泛一些。并且值得注意的是这个词还同时是个动词，有产猪仔的意思。
至于为什么要把猪流感翻译成swine flu，而不是pig flu，那就不得而知了。
先是有禽流感（bird flu，鸟流感）出现，现在又出了个猪流感（swine flu），不知下一个又将是什么流感了。这个世界可真是不太平。

The Washington Post reports that one of the main tasks facing scientists is to gain a better understanding of variations in the swine flu virus as it has spread throughout the world. The New York Times reports Mexico’s government has identified a five year old boy as the first person in the country to be infected with swine flu.

其实猪们一直都很倒霉的，呵呵。

看了一篇报道，好像是欧洲哪国认为这次流感不应叫“猪流感”，而应叫“北美流感”，犹太人对这次流感被称为“猪流感”更有意见，希望更名为“墨西哥流感” 。

是啊，所以现在世界卫生组织已经正式将其称作H1N1流感，而不是叫作猪流感了。真有意思。

其实猪是冤枉的，呵呵。

只不过病毒里含有猪流感的基因片段而已，含冤的猪啊，幸好给人家平反了。

猪是有点冤枉，虽然给平反了，
但猪流感这个名字已经叫开了，很多人都改不过来了。
可见猪是真惨啊，哈哈
